IPSec VPN cuts off local network

Hi Guys.

I have an XG Firewall with an ipsec vpn to a Mikrtotik router. When the connection is activated and connects, local network connectivity is dropped. When I disconnect the IPSec VPN, the traffic flows again. Any idea what's going on?

Hi Hayden,

Local network connectivity is dropped- I am not able to understand this sentence, what kind of connectivity and where does the traffic flows again? Does that mean, you are not able to communicate internally within the same local network/subnet after the IPSec connection?

Does your VPN config have "overlapping subnets?"

Like local LAN = 192.168.10.0/24 , and remote LAN = 192.168.0.0/16

Hello, I have a similar configuration of VPN in Sophos UTM, but I migrated to Sophos XG and I came across this problem. I opened a support in Sophos and it is already a month and I did not have an answer. I was able to work around the problem using the command "system ipsec_route". Could you explain why?
