Email Scans

Is there a way to enable email scanning on pop3 & imap without setting up an email server inside my network?, I'm using Sophos XG home.

  • Yardiman,

yes you can achieve that by using Business Application Rule and select IMAP/POP template. Source put internal, destination external and tick IMAP/POP and SMTP too.

I will intercept mail traffic and block infected files or change object headers to something else. At the moment there is no way to block spam email but only changing the object.

  • I tried your suggestion however it appears that there no traffic being monitored by the rule .

    Source - Lan

    Destination - Wan

With imap, smtp & pop3 enabled.

Rules indicates that 0mb traffic has passed

  • Yardiman,

can you share a screenshot of the mail policy you created? Also can you share your Firewall Rules ?

    Thanks

  • I was able to get the traffic scanning going, however it appears that i am unable to send emails via Outlook... I get the following error

"Send test e-mail message: Your server does not support the connection encryption type you have specified. Try changing the encryption method. Contact your mail server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for additional assistance."

It appears to be a cert issue.. any light on this issue?

    I'm also running MTA mode
