Wan Link manager Gateway IP bug

The Wan Link manager has a problem where the gateway IP is mandatory which if the connection is PPP or DHCP can cause an issue as you cannot enter a manual value as it can be subject to change.

This prevents you from making changes to the gateway configuration (E.g setting as backup.etc)

The Value should only be required if the "Wan" Interface that gateway belongs to is set to static.

  • Hi Matt,

You have to define the interface configurations in System > Network > Interfaces. The configured WAN interface can be found in the WAN link manager and possible permutations can be defined. Correct me if I misunderstood the post.

  • The problem is you cannot make changes in the WAN link manager if the gateway for the interface is dynamically assigned as the wan link manager requires the gateway filed to be populated with a value.

This prevents you changing any settings that are managed by the Link manager relating to that gateway

  • Hi Matt,

I configured WAN interface to DHCP in our test appliance and everything works perfect. Alongside, I didn't find any option to configure WAN gateway in the link manager. If you are looking for an option to edit the gateway through WAN link manager than that isn't possible. Interface set on DHCP will receive IP address from a default gateway, you cannot change it.

    Thanks
