Can't get OpenVPN on Android to work

Tried importing the cert a bunch of times and I keep getting an error while trying to connect:

OpenVPN core error : PolarSSL: error parsing cert certificate : X509 - The date tag value is invalid

Has anyone got the android openvpn app working?  Thanks!

    Thanks everyone... I really dont think the app is to blame tho since it worked fine the day before for UTM9.  I installed XG to try it out and tried importing the cert and that is when I got the error.  But it is the same version that I have been using fine on UTM9.  To me it seems like XG is not issuing the cert right or something.
