UTM to XG, WAN interface error state

i've migrated My network from Sophos UTM to Sophos XG, but somehow my WAN interface is counting many of error packets (RX), and my network is getting slower, meanwhile if i use Sophos UTM, there's not any error counted.

is there anyone ever facing this issue ?

  • Hi,

Error packets are observed due to the mismatch with speed negotiation. The auto-negotiated Interface Speed should be a Full Duplex connection. If any interface has negotiated with a Half Duplex, manually set the Interface Speed to match that of the peer device. To set the interface speed, navigate through System > Network > Interfaces > edit the interface with error > Advance Settings> Interface speed.

After changing the interface speed, take SSH to XG and go to option 4. console: show network interfaces, run the command multiple time and observe which interface speed halts the increase in error packets.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Yes,  i've also done that, i set the speed duplex to 100mbps/full-duplex (because in UTM for the same interface, i use auto-negotiation and the interface speed was set 100mbps/full-duplex) but it's still the same, the error packet's still increasing.

  • Hi,

    Deploy an intermediate (unmanageable) switch?

    Hope that helps.
