Wireless AP Bridge to VLAN

Hello,

I did not find very clear how vlan works with AP's. In particular I cannot understand why it's not possible to bridge to vlan 1. On my switch the vlan 1 is tagged and it's not the default AP vlan.

Also I'd like to authenticate association to wlan through the XG user database (as a radius server).

Thx

  • Hi Sachin,

thank you for replying. In SSID configuration I can use a pre-shared key or RADIUS for authentication. I expected to be able to authenticate wireless access using the XG firewall user database.

Second point, when  choosing to bridge an SSID to a VLAN, vlan 1 can't be selected.

  • I'm in your same situation... I have switches VLAN tagged as VLAN 1 (so I prefer to use this VLAN also for AP) and the AP must have 4 SSID for VLAN 11, 12, 13 and 16, so must be tagged (also only 11 is with Radius, the other are static authentication WPA2).

I have configured AP on a 802.1q Trunk with native VLAN 1, so it is taking the right IP from DHCP, but can't configure it on XG interface due to this stupid limit of VLAN AP Tagging from 2 to 4096... this limit it's a total nonsense for me...
