VLAN access for Guest and Local

Hi Everyone!

I am responsible for implementing Sophos XG firewalls for a client my company has. They have retail locations with POS machines. Here is what I am trying to accomplish.

1. Create a Configured port for LAN access (I am able to do this on Port1 )

2. Setup a VLAN set to a port that I can plug in a Unifi AP to (This is where I am having the issue)

- I am able to set the VLAN to Port1 (My LAN)

-How do I get this VLAN on another port so I can hook the AP up?

The VLAN has two networks through Unifi. One for guests and the other for Customer service machines. The customer service machines need to access

the LAN while the guests should not be able to access the LAN but should go out through the Web.

Basically I need to use one port for the Unifi, One port for the LAN and I need to be able to separate the VLAN traffic..

Let me know if you need more information I am new to XG....

  • Tim,

    you have 2 options:

    1. Use 2 Ports, one for LAN wired connection and another port where you connect your AP. On the same port you create 2 VLAN, one for Guest and the other one for LAN.

    2. Use a switch and connect your AP and other devices, then you trunk the port coming from the switch to XG and transport all the VLAN needed. On the XG side, you create multiple VLAN on the same port.

    Hope this helps!
