Exclude WAN interface from Load Balancing - Or use a non WAN interface for a VPN endpoint?

I have an XG with 2 public WAN interfaces (for internet access) and 1 private WAN interface (for private VPN connections).

I want to configure the device to only use the public WAN interfaces for load balancing, and to not use the private WAN. If I change the private WAN to another zone, I can't use it for a VPN endpoint. On the SG I could have set the weighting on the private WAN to zero, but that isn't allowed on the XG.

Thoughts?

  • Hi Brent,

Configure private WAN to work as backup line. This will exclude the private WAN link from taking part in load balance. Later, you can select this backup line as a Route through gateway with the firewall rule as per the requirement.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks
