XG 125W - use other ports as switch

Hi Guys, please help me out, this is going my head in.

How could I use the remaining ports on XG125W as a switch?

I have Port 1 as LAN and Port 2 as WAN. All works fine. But i am not sure what to do with the remaining ports.

When i try to link them to LAN zone nothing happens. Should i create a new bridge?

I would like to be able to use them on the same subnet same way as a switch.

Thank you!

  • Hi El,

    Greetings.

You have the answer  inside your question! If you want to use two physical interface on a similar subnet you need to Bridge them.

Please refer the link to configure bride pair between two interfaces on XG.

What noone (no video or no document) tells you tho is that you cant bridge an interface you are currently logged in from.

So if you are trying to bridge Port 1 and Port 3 you cant be logged in from port 1 or you will keep getting some generic error message.

You need to bridge 3-4-5-6-7-8 first, give it an IP. log via that new IP and only then you can add port 1

Shame to see something that is supposed to better than SG to be just so much worse in every possible way.
