AP55 and AP55C auto-negotiating 802.11G instead of 802.11AC

Hi everyone,

I have an XG125 w/ an AP55C and AP55. I am having a problem where the WiFi is negotiating 802.11g with the workstations instead of 802.11AC. The Workstations all have TP-LINK T4U (802.11AC) wireless adapters and were getting over 650+Mb/s on the old residential-class router. On the new AP55C and AP55, they are only getting 54Mb/s which is perplexing. I checked the WLAN adapter on the workstation and it told me it was only negotiating 802.11g...

I have a Guest network (no encryption) and an encrypted network running 2.4gHz and 5gHz on the same SSID. Both networks suffer from slow speeds.

Later today I am going to try broadcasting a 5gHz only network and see if that does anything... but, my question is, why are the workstations only negotiating 802.11g with the AP55 and AP55C? It's definitely a problem on the AP end because the workstations negotiated 802.11AC with the last WiFi router that was non-Sophos.

Is there any way to force the Sophos AP to operate at 802.11ac? What would cause it to drop down to 802.11g? I won't know more until I'm in the building tonight but I thought I'd collect ideas now for me to try later tonight.

Thanks,

Chris
