Interface Status

Every unbound, disabled physical port on my XG firewall shows up as "interface status" DOWN in SOPHOS Firewall Manager (SFM).

Can I (automatically?) flag unbound ports as "okay" if they are disconnected. Every one of my firewalls has between 4 and 13 unused ports and I consider this normal but cannot find a way in either SFM or in the XG to "disable notification on this interface" or some such.  If it's not bound to a zone AND configured with an IP address it's not DOWN it's just unconfigured and unbound.

  • Hi All,

Sophos Product Team is working on the issue. Issue is from SFOS side. Once change will be taken in SFOS side, it will be resolved.

As soon as i have further update on the issue, i will update you.

  • I can confirm this is a problem on every version of the Sophos XG.  The larger the XG the more unused ports the bigger the "problem" appears.

Even the home version of Sophos XG which is designed to run on a PC (or virtual machine as I do) shows the wireless as disconnected and that version doesn't even have a wireless.

Thank you for addressing this.  Obviously the priority is very low because it's only a visual indication but it would be nice to see the interface cleaned up.
