  • i have found the bug! the sophos xg use the configuration of main interface. the main interface didn't have ipv6 so vlan also can't have ipv6. why sophos do this bull...sh..t. same error that you can't create vlan if no ip configuration on main interface. why, why you do this sophos.

  • I'm having this same "problem" / "inconvenience". My PortB is configured to do ipv4 dhcp and ipv6 dhcp in the native vlan because I need ipv4 and ipv6 on the PortB vlan interfaces.

I would expect to be able to bring up interface PortB without ipv4 or ipv6 configuration and only configure the vlan interfaces.

Also I'm enabling ipv6 configuration after ipv4 was already configured. To do this I need to delete all PortB vlan interfaces before I could enable ipv6. Meh!

  • Maybe, hopefully v17 will fix this little issue. Also means you have a stray IP range connected which vlan 1 on the switch can see.

  • Any news about IPv6 and VLAN?

I see that V17 is coming..

  • Same deal  with SFOS 17.0.1 MR-1 just trying to set up a ipv6 tunnel and it seems no IPV6 support in the GUI for VLANs.  Even the doc says only for physical interfaces.

So what gives, IPv6 is OK on physical ports - limited use as my network has multiple VLANs in use for various SSIDs etc.

Shell - ifconfig shows ipv6 live on the VLANs anyway, so if something advertised ipv6/DHCP6 on that VLAN I assume it would work??

Will try later to see if adding the ipv6 addresses via the shell works (and sticks over a reboot?) or is there some subtle bug/reason that'll stop ipv6 working on VLANs???
