SFM and XG license not synchronized

Hi All,

using XG with Home License and attaching it to SFM, this one reports that licenses are expired. Is it normal?

Hi Luk,

Can you send the screenshot of XG device Licensing page (System> Administration > Licensing) ?

HI Ravi,

I hava emailed privately Paul and he said that SFM might have this behavior when an XG with home license is attached to it.
Even IanMoreHouse has the same issue/limitation.

Anyway SFM documentation does not say that XG home license appliances are not supported. My goal is to check and verify every single aspect of XG-SFM before moving UTM-SUM installation.

Hi folks,

that is some good news, I have finally got the XG to register in the SFM. How?

I rebuilt the SFM in the VM using the intel ISO.

Manually added the XG to the SFM, details accepted for a minute or two same as before. Found the time on the SFM was wrong fixed that. Changed the Full NAT to a DNAT on the UTM and bingo we have connection.

SFM card view

Security - red - because I am stil allowing webadmin access from the internet.

resources - green

License - red - still showing on the XG as being in evaluation mode, expires sometime in 2999.

availbility - green.

Hi Luk,

SFM allow to manage evaluation licenses such as home license or 30 day free trial downloaded from Sophos website.

What is the status and Expiration Date of below module in XG device Licensing page (System> Administration > Licensing) ?

Network Protection
Web Protection
Email Protection
Webserver Protection
Enhanced Support
Enhanced Plus Support

But, if you go to SFM device settings -> Managed Devices -> Devices all except "enhanced plus support" show green.

Please note that Free trial and Free Tool licenses including the Home Use license will say Evaluating. You will have access to the same features as a 'subscribed' license - Evaluating just indicates that it is not a paid-for license.
