XG Home Installation x86 - isolinux.bin missing or corrupt

I've tried two different usb drives, two different downloads of the same file and every time the result is the same at boot:

isolinux.bin missing or corrupt

Downloaded SW-SFOS_15.01.0_MR-1.1-407.iso   283,648KB

This contains:

LINUX   2/22/2016    8:33AM      8,881KB

FWIMGS   2/22/2016    8:33AM      273,408KB

ISOLINUX folder:

   BOOTCAT   2/22/2016    8:33AM      2KB

   ISOLINUX.BIN   2/22/2016    8:33AM      24KB

   ISOLINUX.CFG   2/22/2016    8:33AM      1KB

created bootable usb drive and tried with both:

Win32DiskImager-0.9.5-install.exe

rufus-2.8 both as iso and dd (hybrid iso)

    just created bootable usb drive with:   unetbootin-windows-613.exe

    when I selected fwinstaller on the boot menu all I got was a flashing cursor

    modified the unetbootin's syslinux.cfg on the usb drive to drop 'quiet' 

    now I'm getting some output:

    CHS:  Error 2001 reading sector 4320 (0/101/6)

    CHS:  Error 2001 reading sector 1145200 (71/105/19)

    Invalid or corrupt kernel image.

    CHS:  Error 2001 reading sector 1163048 (72/133/38)

    and flashing cursor

    please help!

    created another bootable image with unetbootin on my second usb drive

    output on that one is:

    Starting Firmware Installation

    Failed getting ISO disk

    press y to reboot

    please help! disaster everywhere I turn :(
