Regarding XG version user portal

Hi guys can i know how to access the user portal in XG version, as we know in SG we just exclude the port number and it will take us to the user portal but for XG version it is so confusing, 2 questions at below. Thanks for the help

1)is XG captive portal equals to user portal that used to be?
2)if we have a  SSL remote client are we able to download Sophos VPN client from the userportal or we need to use the 3rd party VPN client ..

    Hi Tham,

    Greetings.

    You can achieve the User Portal in XG Version similarly as with SG UTM. You just need to browse "https://UTM'S IP".

    Can you please check the User Portal Port by navigating to

    • System
    • Administration
    • Settings

    You can refer the below screenshot:

    Captive Portal is not equal to User Portal. Sophos Firewall allows administrators to customize URL Redirection after a user logs in through the Captive Portal. A Captive Portal is used to authenticate an existing user in Sophos Firewall through a web browser interface before granting access to the Internet. Once the user authenticates, the user is redirected to his/her intended URL or to a URL pre-configured by the administrator.

    2) If we have a  SSL remote client are we able to download Sophos VPN client from the User Portal or we need to use the 3rd party VPN client ..

    Yes, you can download Sophos VPN client from the User Portal.

    XG Version 16 user portal where do i configure allowed users as well as whats excluded from the user portal,
