Adding and AD Authentication Server

I am demoing Sophos XG firewalls in a test environment to determine if my company should switch from checkpoint. I have a good handle on Sophos now but I have hit a road block. I am trying to add an AD authentication server and am entering all my settings correctly but I keep getting an error that says incorrect credentials whenever I test the connection. I can ping the domain controller, I can resolve its domain name, and every time I test the connection the domain controller records 4 log on events from the Sophos firewall a credential authentication, a special log on, a log on, and a log off all of which are  successful. I am not sure what is wrong and I am hoping someone else has had this issue and can steer me in the correct direction. Just so everyone knows the firewall is running as a vm on an esxi host and the domain controller is also running on a esxi host clustered with the one the firewall is on. The firewall has a interface on the same subnet as the domain controller and the two hosts are connected through a Cisco Catalyst 3850. Thanks in advance for any help.
