What is "Unauthenticated users redirection YES/NO" on Authentication Services?

I didn't find any differences , when I change it from Yes to No.

I would like to know what will be changed.

  • Hi Takeshi,

    Greetings.

Unauthenticated User redirection is selected as:
"Yes" to redirect the access request of unauthenticated user either to the Captive Portal or Custom Message page."No" to display "Access Denied" message to unauthorized user.

Please refer the link : https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-US/123367

This will give you a better idea about the Captive Portal settings.

    Thanks

  • Hello,

we have an XG firewall installed. kindly let me know how this device coupe with "Local Administrator" of a windows computer. does it consider it as un-authenticated user ?

if so, then i get no message while browsing through Sophos XG (trying method above). the device is in gateway mode.  and there is just a single policy denying all traffic.

my purpose is to show "captive portal" on unauthenticated users (including local administrator of a windows computer) when someone try to browse through appliance.
