XG - DDNS (dyndns) Invalid configuration

I keep getting "Invalid Configuration or bad authorization" when attempting to setup DDNS on the XG Firewall.  This is for home use so I don't have a static IP, nor do I want to pay for one.  However, I do own a top level domain that I have been forwarding to my local network for years.  My DD-WRT router has been able to keep dyndns up-to-date without a problem, however, it seems like Sophos is having issues even though it says it supports dyndns.

Could this possibly be caused because I am using a TLD instead of <whatever>.dyndns.com?

  • I will be unable to test this as I have switched to the UTM product instead of the XG.  I was having too many issues with the XG and didn't feel it was worth the time and effort moving forward with it (not just this but other glaring issues as well).  The UTM works great and keeps DynDns up to date perfectly as far as this issue is concerned.

This might be a good thing to keep in mind while developing the XG product though as it does not work for TLDs in the XG as of the original post.

The XG has potential, but it is no where near ready for wide spread use at this time.

  • This one's a helpful post. thanks sachin!
