Factory reset of AP55C

Why is there no way of factory resetting an AP55C? This is what I was told by support. There used to be the reflashing tool. Seems a bit silly that the only process is to organise an RMA and get a new unit.

Is this correct?

Thanks in advance,

Luke

  • The Re-flash tool currently only works with Sophos AP10, AP30, AP50 - www.sophos.com/.../118843.aspx

There are plans in the pipeline to extend this tool to all AP versions and REDs however there is no date available for when this will be ready.

If all other troubleshooting methods have been exhausted then that does only leave us to RMA the devices.
  • I have an AP55c that doesn't connect at high speed on te 5ghz band. Does for a short while then drops to either 6mb/s or 24mb/s.

I know it is not the iphone because as at work on the 5ghz ssid it connects at over 300mb/s. Yes, I know how can I check this, because I am the administrator and have access to the wifi controller.

Forgot to add I am a home user.
