How to refresh an interface?

Working with an XG install on hardware, I've been around a bit and have a few installs of UTM 9 running at various homes so I'm familiar with Astaro... Sophos.

I can't find an option to refresh the dhcp on an interface. Meaning I want the XG to make a new dhcp request from the WAN interface to the modem. The only way I can see now is to reboot the hardware.

  • The only way that I found to do it was to:

    • log in to the XG firewall
    • go to Network
    • go to Interfaces Tab
    • click on edit on the WAN interface
    • change the IP Assignment from the current setting to another
    • save it
    • change it back again to the original setting
    • save it again
    • DONE

eg change IP Assignment from DHCP to Static, save it, then change it back to DHCP and save it again.
