  • Hi All,

Did anybody  managed to ever resolve this issue? If you did can you share your solution?

I have a similar setup, VoIP/SIP controller at HQ on the LAN and branch office connected via IPSEC VPN with remote phones. Routed network with no NAT involved. Remote phones can register successfully. Extension to Extension calls work Peer to Peer with bi-directional audio no issues. Local phone to SBC work fine for outbound calls. However remote IP Phone have one way audio from the SBC.

XG Firewall replaced a previous Fortigate at HQ with the IPSEC VPN re-established to the branch Fortigate. Before migration all good. After migration with ONLY the XG firewall change, VoIP broken.

Did a Wireshark sniff and realised that the controller did the necessary hand-off to the SBC via a SIP SDC packet. Phone managed to open a successful RTP Session to the SBC but somehow the packet back from the SBC can't seem to reach the phone.

Tried with both the SIP ALG loaded and unloaded. Tried with specific rules allowing traffic both directions with UDP port range from 1-65000, All without success.

Running out of options before declaring that the XG cannot handle the SIP/RTP traffic.

    Anybody got any ideas?

    Thanks.

  • HI ,

some time when even tunnel is up  and you can ping machines behind either side of firewall but  voice or some other traffic may not pass . in such a case you have to check your vpn  policy if it is not matching completely  such a issue may occur.
