just for customers that have bought a XG Aplliance and are not happy. Is it possible to migrate a XG Appliance or a SG appliance back to UTM 9?

Hi There,
You can't install UTM on XG hardware. It's not a licensing limitation, when you try and install UTM on the XG the install terminates once it realises you're trying to install UTM on XG series hardware.
So purchase SG hardware, then you can migrate your license or roll back to UTM if necessary.

Sorry to bump an old post but I've got 4-XG115's and just realized there is a major part of AD binding that is non existent on the XG software. Am I SOL with these 4 boxes then? The only way for me to go to UTM would be to purchase new SG hardware?

Hi Chad,
You can retrograde the boxes, so you can install UTM 9.X on XG Boxes, you'll just need your SOPHOS partner to request a UTM license for the term of the XG License.
