PPPOE connection failing.

I have an XG105W in a small office with 6 people.  When 2 or 3 are in the office everything seems to work fine, but when everyone begins to get on the internet (usually first thing in the morning) I lose the connection between the XG and DSL modem.  I can log into the admin gui and the interface says "connecting", but it will not connect until I power cycle the DSL modem.  Then everything seems to work fine most of the day.  The log says "Port2: Disconnect PPPoE due to LCP timeout"  Any ideas?  Also I might mention that I tried to set LCP timeout using just the defaults LCP echo and LCP failure, but after I save those changes and go back into the settings it looks like they were not changed.

  • I think I've solved this problem, but it was not how I wanted to resolve. I put PPP back on the DSL modem and then set up XG for DHCP. So far I have not had any disconnects. Previously I had the DSL modem in Bridge Mode and the XG handling all the PPPOE connections. Not sure why this works as my previous box never had a problem with it. Maybe some expert out there can explain it?
