Sophos XG Wireless Access Points Monitoring

Hello together,

i am searching for a good ans solid way to monitor sophos xg access points.

We have several customers with sophos xgs and a handfull of access points connected to them.

As for now i have not found any way to monitor the access points via snmp, https or any other way.

I would love to integrate them to our monitoring system, that we know if a access point fails for whatever reason.

I did not find any Sophos Central Events or any information in the sophos xg configuration api.

How do you monitor your access points ?

best regards

Michael

  • Hello Erik,

    thank you for your response.

I am trying to integrate Paessler PRTG but, it would not matter which system. I do not know one system which could inquire sophos xg firewalls by default without any custom script.

The Wireless Dashboard as far as i understood is for Wireless Accesspoints connected to Sophos Central directly and not managed by the XG.

I already check the KB for SNMP, but i did not find anything about wireless or access points in the MIB description, but perhaps i did overlook something.

  • Hi Michael,

For Access Point SNMP, this will fall under Feature Request.

I'd recommend you to reach out to your Account Manager, Sales Engineer, or Sales Representative so that they can enter this request into our system.
Additionally, you can use the in-product feedback in the Sophos Firewall located in the Top Menu Bar.

  • Hello Eric,

yeah thanks. I was not looking for a feature requerst, because time tells that it ain't gonna happen Slight smile

I was hoping for any solution or idea anyone had.

I do not care if it snmp, http, mail or whatever kind of log parsing. I would like to get informed if one of dozend access points dies, which will happen at some point :)
