Wireless hotspot URL redirect takes too long

Thanks for reaching out to Sophos Community and hope you are well.

Does the sluggishness happens to all users or it's an isolated case? Also, does the slowness affects browsers on Desktop (Windows/Mac) and Mobile (Android, iOS?) Are there any significant change of loading time between the mentioned Operating Systems? 

Also, please try loading the Hotspot - Terms of Acceptance on a new browser tab (cleared cache or incognito)

This slowness affects browsers on Windows, Android and iOS and all experience the same slowness. The problem with loading the hotspot in incognito is that the page is displayed when you connect to the open Wifi network. On Android and iOS the page is displayed inside the Wifi settings menu so there is no way to open the hotspot page in incognito.

Is there maybe a setting which discribes how long to wait to redirect?

Many thanks for these details. Have you tried checking and reconfiguring DNS on your FW and end machines? Kindly try changing DNS of FW and end machines. I simulated this setup and was able to successfuly loaded the page quickly after the Hotpost Terms of use Acceptance

I tested it on Android, iOS and Windows PC and they all loaded it normally. My end machines used Sophos Firewall as DNS and DNS settings on FW are 1.1.1.1 8.8.8.8 and 4.4.4.4

I have check my DNS and this was already set to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 and the clients have the firewall as their DNS. Can you maybe share your firewall rule used by the hotspot?
