SOPHOS loses wan

Hi!

I have Sophos XG106 rev.1 with home license activated SFVH (SFOS 19.5.1 MR-1-Build278) .

Every few days the gateway/wan port goes down, attached log bellow:

I have my sophos fw behind ISP-modem/router, 192.168.100.1 is my modem ip and it is IP passthrough mode.

I have tried everything but still no clue why my port1=WAN goes down.

Previously the firewall worked for 8 days without failure then gateway is down and internet.

My modem is not the problem I have tested connectivity when sophos fw gateway is down. Boot restores connection in sophos fw.

Could anybody help me?? Please!

  • are you able to ping the gateway (from firewall) while internet is unreachable?

Do you try to click "renew" near the WAN-IP?

  • Hello Dirk and thank you for reply!

Ping from firewall to gateway I have not tried, next time gateway is down I have to test that.

If I disconnect the network cable from the Sophos FW device when the gateway is down and plug it into the laptop, everything works fine, so the problem must be in the Sophos device. I also have Sophos installed on my pc with an Inten i340-T4 network card and nothing similar has ever happened to this system, sophos sw. version is same???

When I go to the interfaces and WAN port settings, I change something and then put it back and save the settings, port/IP is updated and everything works again. I haven't found any other way to update the WAN IP in GUI.

I have thought that the problem could be in the drivers of the Sophos xg106 network card, is this possible?

    Thanks for helping!
