Will SOPHOS Be Adding User Support for Web browsing from Azure AD for Web Filtering

We are currently using SOPHOS for our Firewall. We would like to tie it into our Azure AD. Since we had issues with RW, we will not put in a AD server on premise and according to Microsoft that AD was going to be phased out and Azure AD was going to be the end all beat all solution for this.

I notice that the selection is there but right now it is currently for Administration only.

Will there be a time soon where we can do that for our groups of users and then apply policies based on what group what they are allowed to on the web. As in Staff have more of a laxed web filter and students are more of a stricter environment?

I have been with SOPHOS for a long time and I am fighting for its life here in my district since I had brought it in back in the day. 

I would like to keep it going and hope that there will be a place for this soon in the software. we are on SFOS 19.5.0 GA-Build197 and there is a new update I see when logging into the server now as well.

Just hope that SOPHOS can make this happen and we can keep it in our district.

Any thoughts on when this will be available?

    Essentially this will be supported as soon as it is implemented in the captive Portal, which could be this year. But it is not a SSO Experience, instead a captive Portal, which the users have to sign in. 

    The problem with SSO is, Azure AD does not offer the same kind of interfaces like AD does. 

    You could use Azure AD with the LDAP Interface: community.sophos.com/.../sophos-firewall-integrate-sophos-firewall-with-azure-ad

    Thanks for the info, but from what we were told from Microsoft AD will be decommissioned here in the next year or two and Azure will be the Ad for all systems.

    This is when they were rolling out Windows 11 and mentioned everything that is WIndows 11 and beyond wil lbe made to work with Azure AD and AD will be phased out, meaning everything online.

    I really hope SOPHOS makes it more or a reality because I really like the software however my boss tells me that if we cannot do this without AD we will have to look for alternatives to SOPHOS for our Firewall, Content Filtering Etc.....

    And for me that is a kick in the gut since this has been my baby ever since we got it in district. I hope SOPHOS will work with Azure and MS to get this rolling out faster. It is a great product and would hate to leave it over something like this.
