Sophos SFOS 19.0.1 MR-1 dont want update to new firmware

I have Sophos XG (SFOS 19.0.1 MR-1-Build365) installed on Proxmox instance.

Cant update to new firmware version: SFOS 19.0.2 MR2-Build472

After logging popup window appear encouraging me to upgrade to new firmware, but when I click upgrade button nothing happens - just nothing as if it was "empty" button'. Next time i downloaded firmware from sophos central and tried upload firmware directly (SW-19.0.2_MR-2.SFW-472.sig) by sophos->backup and firmware->upload firmware. But again when i choose a file and press button "upgrade and boot" nothing happens. No information, no clue, no new popup, nothing. So if someone could point me to right direction...what to do.

  • not really "It is fixed in MR1. " I have MR1 from the beginning, and these are your own words " The bug is fixed. You need to reinstall with the new V19.0 MR1 installer or an old installer. "

BTW. To install i used official sophos images (qcow2) The whole process of installation is also on movie on yt by Christian Lempa (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pvgKc3WdEg)

It seems to me as if qcow files was invalid (no space for update ?) or something else.

  • It is not fixed by affected users. This means: If you use the Fixed installer (v19.0 MR1 + ) it will not occur. But affected users will not be fixed by upgrading. Therefore you need to follow the process discribed in my link.

The firewall does not simply have enough space to extract the file.

  • That guy who opened topic said  "I've deployed VI-19.0.0_GA.VMW-317.zip" then you said 'its fixed in MR1" so flaw was in MR1 also ? also "Like Luca said, this issue affects VMs which were deployed with the v19.0 GA installer. If you re-deploy the VM using this MR1 installer, it would resolve the issue. "

Dont understand you, i have MR1 and dont use GA version.

What exactly should i do now? What is solution, because at the end of linked topic seems that there is no one: "Is that workaround still available?"

  • Which firmware Version did you use to install the firewall?

There is a script to fix this issue. There is a reference to this fix in the link i shared. You can ask there to get the script. You can install the firewall with the latest release and restore the backup.
