LAN LAGG (NON LACP) Active/Back-up Stops working after 5mins. I have to unplug one of the links for it to start working again.

Until i unplug one of the links, can't ping the XG, get online and the SOPHOS Wifi stops working..... Basically the LAN LAGG isn't accessible.

A bit of a back story....

We've just installed a new Core switch, this new switch doesn't support Dynamic LAGG (LACP).

On our old Core switch, we had the XG connected via LACP (802.3ad) all was well.

I've had to switch from LACP on the XG to Active/Back-up. Static LAGG is configured on the new CORE. Initially it works fine but just stops working. Unplugging any of the two links restores connectivity. Both the links also work fine independently and if only one is connected it remains stable.

Plug them both in, fine for 5 mins or so, then nothing.........

Any ideas?

  • 5 mins was a little wrong.... it's more like 10 seconds! the output is the same when working or not:

    mode - active-backup

    slaves - Port10-Port9

    Primary-interface - Auto

    xmit-hash-policy - layer 2

    static-mode - disable

    monitor-interval - 100

    up-delay - 0

    down-delay - 0

    failback-policy - takeover

    lacp-rate - slow

    garp-count - 5

I assume is something to do with 'static-mode - disable' assuming that's the LAGG mode its in? I'm a total newbie to this so maybe way off the mark

    Thanks for having a look
