Traffic being blocked

I have a rule that allows DHCP traffic from port 68 UDP to port 67 UDP and in the firewall I see the following in the log:

Appliance Access - Denied - Firewall Rule 22 - Rule Name: AllowDHCP - Src IP: 0.0.0.0 - Dst IP: 255.255.255.255 - Src Port 68 -Dst Port 67 - Protocol UDP

What am I missing? Why is it still blocked?

  • Hi,

why are you trying to redirect ports 67 and 68? If you are using the XG as your DHCP server you do not need to doing anything for those ports.

  • i use the XG as DHCP and I am not trying to redirect any ports. I created the FW rule because I saw in the log that the traffic was denied by appliance access and tried to allow this traffic by creating a rule that would so

  • Hi,

you do not need that rule. You can ignore those entries, you will find that you are being assigned an address assuming the pool is large enough.

Sometimes the clients request faster than the XG can handle multiple requests and so you see access denied.ian
