XGS116 appears to be blocking FortiClient SSLVPN

Hi,

I run an XGS116 and have a requirement to connect to a company who uses FortiGate 100's. They have supplied me with the FortiClient SSLVPN client.

If I connect to the VPN, I can not ping external addresses such as 8.8.8.8. I had their MSP check the settings, and all is fine at their end.

If I look at my logs, I see no blocks in Application Control, IPS, Firewall, Web Content.

As a test though, I set my web content filtering to "None" and turned all IPS, scanning etc off. It has made no difference.

If I connect the "affected" machine to my mobile hotspot, it works fine so I am quite sure that it is the XG that is causing the issues.

Do you have any suggestions?

  • Hi Daniel,

Thank you for reaching out to Sophos Community.

Have you tried to use any how-to videos, documentation, Sophos Assistant, or KBA to try to check the issue?

Also, Have you allowed the remote site to the Tunnel Access "Permitted Network resources" ?
