Administrative access from IP Address (LAN_IP) !!?

Hi all,

Today i discover that some lan IP try to access to FW web admin ( I don't know if this alert confirms what I think) web admin or other traffic

But some differents ip try this, It's not very common but it's remarkable

What happen exactly, is it a properly access to webadmin?

I think many users faven't anythings about ipaddress off firewall, and the url to access web admin is ip@:portnumber (not the default)

what can it be?

Thanks

  • Hi Fotit,

Thank you for reaching out to Sophos Community.

Kindly check the Log viewer. If the IP address trying to access your user portal isn’t allowed, kindly create a Firewall rule to block it.

Also,  you may create an ACL on Administration> device Management that can filter the access.

  • Hello Fotit,

it is always a good design to have a separated management network, that "normal" users aren't connected to and are not allowed to access from anywhere else.
That's the reason there is a mangement interface on the newer XGS firewalls, that your XG330 didn't have.

But you could use one of the LAN-Ports for this purpose.
