Using XG on OVH dedicated server - WAN cannot create !

HI,

i'm testing XG as Firewall for my VMs in dedicated server in OVH dataceter.

I'm able to configure correctly the WAN port with IP Failover in XG.

In Linux machine i configure the WAN link

infconfig eth0 IPFAILOVER/32
route add GWIP dev eth0
route add default gw GWIP

but in XG firewall i cannot set GW IP out of interface ip netmask (of course)

To get connectivity i made a new zone OVH and move the Port2 to this zone, set static route 0/0 dev Port2, so the firewall can reach internet.

BUT without a gateway i cannot setup VPN server or IPSec VPN, ....

So, i can setup correctly the WAN PORT with OVH settings ?

    XG is a VM in my dedicated server in OVH Datacenter.

    i have to configure the WAN Port with is parameters

    But is not possible

    In a linux machine i tested this working configuration of WAN port

    ifconfig eth0 178.32.123.123/32
    route add 51.83.123.123 dev eth0
    route add default gw 51.83.123.123

    in XG to do this i create a new zone

    Setting Port to this new zone and setup only the IP without gateway

    After set the 'default' gateway

    BUT in this case i CANNOT manage VPN Server because there isn't a valid gateway configured on XG

    So how can i solve this ?

  • Hello Paolo,

    OVH is not a supported environment for Sophos Firewall, I would recommend you reach out to your Sales Engineer of Professional Services if you need assistance deploying your device in this environment.

    IPsec can only be deployed using a WAN interface, the WAN interface can't be a network broadcast IP.
