Restore Backup from XGS116w to XGS116

You could go the way and do XML Import / Export and migrate the configuration with this process.

It is quite simple: Export everything in Import Export and import it back to the target firewall.

BTW: This will take time to import. Do not be hasty and wait some minutes to import everything.

We have the same issue. From XG115w to XGS126 without W.

So without a running surce, its not possible to change some damaged hardware.

Will it be possible to remove the WIFI check on restore, because such a simple think set a customer to break, but WIFI on firewall is not a prio feature.

If there is no export possibility customer have to wait for a XG with wifi.

Is an installed WIFI module for XGS126 same as on XG115w? Would a restore possible there?

hello ian, of course it work, but I hope you understand the problem.

If a customer have a XG115w what will be "dead" you are not able to export something.

We store all backups via email and this backup are not helpfull for quick help.

The wifi and the certificates. The certificates need to be regenerated. You could do a restore to a spare unit, fix the cas then backup that unit via mail to give a workable restore point. You would have to ensure you document all, changes at every site for this to work correctly.

Sure, but it would be better, just to import the backup config and ignore all the wifi stuff on any hardware that will have enough eth ports.

I am not disagreeing with you, just offering you a workable solution to provide customer service/support until Sophos agrees with you and makes changes to the backup/restore process.
