Hi,
On October 31, 2022 Windstream pushed a software update to our VeloCloud device that caused our Internet to go down every 20 minutes. The problem was isolate to ARP packets that are sent from our Sophos XG firewall to the VeloCloud device. At firewall boot up it sends one ARP packet to the VeloCloud. After that it appears that it does not send another one. At some point the VeloCloud flushes it's ARP cache and it never receives another ARP packet from the firewall. The VeloCloud then stops communicating with the firewall and all Internet traffic stops. The only way to restore Internet again is to reboot the firewall. Nothing else will restore the internet including rebooting the VeloCloud and or switches inbetween. As a temporary solution Windstream increased the ARP cache refresh to 23 hours. Has anyone else encountered this and have a solution or does anyone know how often the firewall sends an ARP packet? Thanks.
Jae
