I have a situation where I have an XGS 2100 on-hand for client A, but they don't need it installed right away. I have another XGS 2100 on order for client B, but it is not going to arrive in time for when they need it installed. I would like to setup client A's firewall on client B's network, using client A's licenses (I will be managing all accounts involved) to get them up and running, and then swap out for their own device when it arrives in a week or two.
I am thinking this might be possible if I do a backup of the config after it is running, and restore it to the new hardware when it arrives. I have two main concerns, though:
1) Does the Backup also backup the licenses? I don't want Client A's license being restored to Client B's hardware when we swap them out - I want to apply the new, appropriate licenses.
2) Will SSL VPN users need to re-download and apply VPN configurations after the hardware is swapped out, or does the backup/restore process include all the necessary certificates and files for it to be transparent on their end?
Thank you for any insight you can offer! Also, is there a difference between backup/restore and export/import?
