please replace the ssd because the one that come with unit has hidden portions for the hardware. Which iso did you use, hw or sw?

So basically you need to decide where to go. 

If you want to use the Hardware Appliance (HW image) this appliance will be SG with SFOS. You can migrate the UTM License but you cannot do SFOS XG Home. So to speak you will not have a license beside the base license, which includes firewalling, NAT, VPN and SD-WAN. 

If you want to install SFOS for Home (full license), you need to install SFOS software. So you need the software installer: SW. 
This will install the software of SFOS as a bare metal installation - Means you can install the XG home as well as SFOS home comes with an own serial number.

I managed to deploy it as a vm, and bridged it to gns3.

The only bad thing is im loosing link speed.
