Old and actually fixed bugs under Central Firewall are back......

Hey,

this is tiring....

3 old bugs that were actually already fixed are unfortunately back

1. Importing a ruleset from an existing firewall into Central no longer works.
Old Case ID was 04997580 (opened on 03/22)

2. Central Synchronisation of Ruleset again not working
Old case ID was 04997550 (opened 03/22)

3. Central Connection lost when ATP Updates are installing
Old case ID 05018562 (opened 03/22)

What is the cause that old errors reappear????

Can someone at Sophos please really look into this?

New Case ID's are 05709072 and 05784459

  • Dear Ghansham,

Can you please escalate this internally?
For all 3 tickets, the response from Sophos is extremely unsatisfactory.
    Case 05784459
    and
    05709072 / 05794975

Case 05709072 has been solved in former times (old case 05018562)
Sophos had stated that this problem would be solved with SFOS 19.
It was, but with SFOS 19.0.1 MR-1-Build365 it is back!

  • Hello Gerd,

    Thank you for reaching out!

I see all your cases have been escalated, I would recommend you though if one of your cases needs to be escalated to reach out to your Sales representative and or Account Manager.

Case 05784459 is now with GES/DEV

Case 05709072 I see GES has left some mentoring notes in the case, however, I have sent an email internally to our escalation manager about it,

Side note: make sure the firewall in question(s) is running 19.0 MR1 Rebuild 365, rather than Build 350 as the fix is on Rebuild 365.

Case 05794975 It looks like the original description was misleading as to what the real problem was, and that caused confusion, your issue is related to NR-8455, which was marked as Fixed the day before but there was a re-occurrence again on Oct 19, fixed already.

  • Hi, sorry for my late reply,

Case 05794975: is now closed after almost 10 days with many hundreds of false positives in Central.

All firewalls run with SFOS 19.0 MR1 Build 365

Case 05709072 is still very unsatisfactory (this case is opened on 1th of September!)
ATP causes connection loss to central and performance issues at the customer site.
Proposed support solutions so far: Increase IPS updates to 2 days / Upgrade license to more power / Turn off IPS!
    You can't be serious.

Case 05784459 will now be processed further

Nevertheless, first of all, thanks for the help, it seems to do something.

    BR Gerd

  • Hello Gerd,

    Thank you for the follow-up.

For Case 05709072, looks like you were on a call with them 2 hours before you posted this update, please reply to the email once the re-occurrence happens so the engineer can collect what GES has suggested.

    Regards,
