Delete configuration with XML Import

Hi,

does anyone know if it is possible to delete a configuration part with an XML configuration import?
For example: add new VLAN and remove old ones?

Using API is not an option in our scenario.

    thanks for sharing the information. I know about this way.

    What I asked for, is, if it is possible to remove a configuration with that import without doing it manually. 
    I want to import a larger XML with configuration in multiple sections and remove some configuration in multiple sections. VLANs was only a small example. 

    This is possible by API directly. As XML import is also using API in the background, removing is maybe also possible in that way??
