Making 1 LAN adress available to the WAN network

Hello,

I recently installed a sophos home firewall and iam a bit inexperienced so sorry if this a stupid question! :D

I have a plexserver running in my LAN network but my firetv sticks all are in the wireless network from my router (also the WAN network). Im not able to set up a communication with my plexserver and anything on the WAN network except for the WAN gateway. I have looked into some things like routing, nat and firewall rules, but i cant figure this thing out.

If you guys need more info or anything please ask .Slight smile

Any ideas?

  • Why are your devices on the WAN interface, you get no security or protection? What mode are you using the XG in?

  • I installed my sophos in a proxmox kvm installation because my networkcards had compatibility issues. Not quite sure if this answers your question if not please elaborate further on this. My devices are still on my WAN interface because my sophos has no wireless funktion at the moment. That is something i wanted to add in the future. Im aware that i wont get any security/protection but this is the only way right now :) ...

    Thanks for your reply

  • Thank you for the answer. Do you have an old modem you can substitute for your router and move the router to the lan connection?

Again, thanks for your reply! :)
