I know, this might be a bit early to ask - but are you already able to say, what will happen with the legacy AP series?

Will they (AP15(C), AP55(C) and AP100(C)) still work on XG hardware?

Sophos AP Series Access Points
The EOL for the following AP Series models has been extended from March 31, 2023 to December 31,2023:

• AP 15/15C
• AP 55/55C
• AP 100/100C/100X

The EOL of these access points do not apply to the UTM, correct? Only the XG?

EoL is bound to the hardware. So SFOS as UTM will interact to APX in the same way. 

Sophos UTM (SG Series)

There is currently no schedule for any changes to AP Series support in Sophos UTM.

I asked before and got conflicting answers. Does this mean that the AP15 will continue to work and be manageable from the UTM (Wireless Protection) even after support is removed from the XG?

So essentially you have to difference: 

There is the RMA part of Access Points. Access Points are bound to the EOL Date, unbound to the platform, they are used. 

There is the Management part, which is mentioned in the KB above. 

And there is Security component: If there is any kind of vulnerability or bug, it will not be covered anymore and not be patched after this date.
