Good day,
We have two clients that are hosting a virtual XG firewall in the Azure cloud. Both are using the Sophos Connect Client VPN (SCC VPN) software in a full tunnel mode.
Client 1. Also has an XG with Firmware v.19 using a site-to-site VPN with a tunnel between it and the virtual XG in Azure. When users connect from on-prem to cloud behind the appliance they experience no latency running a Windows server resource running on an Azure VM application server. The application does have a fat client installed on the workstation. When user 1 connects his laptop from an untrusted network using the SCC VPN with a 100 Mpbs circuit he experiences latency as does the rest of the staff.
Client 2. Are using the SCC VPN as they have gone from on prem to completely virtual. They are experiencing some reliability issues with their VoIP solution and when accessing some website resources (e.g. workforcenow.adp.com). The up and downstream speeds are 67 mpbs and 93 mbps respectively.
Microsoft Auzre Support Team said they did not seen an issue and that the VNET and NSG seem to be setup correctly. I will open another ticket with Microsoft but I do agree with their original assessment because client 1 is connecting thru the same VNET and NSG from the on prem enfironment as the SSC VPN client.
Does anyone else have this issue? Are there any other compatible software VPNs that can be used in place of SSC - if it may be helpful. I don't want to necessary introduce a new software VPN that has the same latency as then my client may point the finger at Azure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
