bridged LAN won't route between physical NICs

Have a 3rd party hardware running XG 19 on. It has 6 ports, using one for WAN and the rest (5) are set in a bridged LAN mode following the directions here: https://docs.sophos.com/nsg/sophos-firewall/19.0/Help/en-us/webhelp/onlinehelp/AdministratorHelp/Network/Interfaces/NetworkBridgeInterfaceAdd/index.html

Enable routing on this bridge pair --> checked
All Ports -> LAN zone
Static IPv4 set (gateway) /24
Permit ARP broadcast --> checked

Devices plugged into the physical NICs are not routable between NICs ( PORT B can't can't ping, ssh etc PORT C, all can ping gateway). DHCP works fine (set on Sophos for bridge) and machines on each NIC can get to WAN (surf internet).

Have pretty much default NAT/Firewall rules and am a bit stumped, appreciate any insights.
