Authentication in Direct Proxy Mode

Question

Hi everyone, 
 can Sophos perform user authentication in direct proxy mode? 
 Captive Portal, SSO, Client Authentication and STAS are not meant. Since we have some applications that should be authenticated directly by Web Proxy. Through "basic user authentication".
