SD-WAN Policy & Failover

It sounds like I have a very specific use case that no one else has brought up in tutorials.

I have two WAN links, one being the main gateway, and a LTE failover (we require this for our POS system). We consume a lot of data, and I don't want to overwhelm the LTE gateway. To that end, what I would like to configure is a policy that will direct only 1 VLAN's traffic over the LTE gateway in the event of a failover.

Any direction would be incredibly helpful.

Thank you.

  • That is a easy use case for SD-WAN Rules in V19.0.
You can simply create two rules.

One rule for your VLAN, which will use the LTE.

One Rule for Cleanup Rest, which will only use the WAN link.

In case of failover, only the first rule will use LTE, the other traffic will be stuck on the old interface.
