Firewall XG Home Use Edition and Sophos Central

Hi, 

i'm evaluating to switch from untangle to XG Home Use Edition (SFOS 19.0.0 GA-Build317) on an intel i5, and up to now the XG seems equivalent than Untangle (I like more the interface that seems new on XG comprared to the '80 UI of untangle...)

But

Every time I login it suggest to join Sophos Central (i know i can dismiss but it's not the point), I would like to join cause i see some value in the feature of Additional Application detection and so on but i get that my username or password are in correct.

So i tried to the web (instead of the fw panel) and seem that i should log here: https://central.sophos.com/manage/login

But i get the same error, account or password not correct. I ask to system to provide me a new password, i get the email with the code, it said that it's verified but i can't change the password.

The crazy things is that i used the same account to login here in the forum and in https://id.sophos.com and it's work perfectly.

So I guess that the error is misleading cause it's not that i don't have the correct account/password but that i'm not enabled to the service.

Can someone help me? As home use user can i have accesso to the central sophos or i just have to dismiss the banner and forget (or pay a subscription)?

In the licensing is written:

Licensed subscriptions: Xstream Protection bundle. Extreme value and protection for your network. Includes essential network, web, and zero-day protection, and Sophos Central VPN orchestration (site-to-site and remote access) with advanced Central Firewall Reporting. A few a-la-carte subscriptions.

that seems to me that I should have Sophos Central

    you have to create an account in cm, then register your XG. The down side of the home user cm account is that it only stores 7 days data, you cannot export the reports.

    I would suggest a different user Id for cm so you don’t confuse passwords etc.

  • The 7 days limitation it's fine for the online part, i can keep on my appliance, and for the report... well it's a pity but I''m not a business so i can survive Slight smile

    I tried to create with my other email account but i get this (cause i tried to create a second one in the past to troubleshoot):

    • Account already exists for this email address.

    There is way to delete it? I think that I created both using id.sophos etc...

    if you sign it ask you a new password that is fully working for the registration!
