Running XG Home version on XG 115 Rev 2.

Aside from it having no built-in wireless access point, it seems OK since the EOL is March 31, 2025. But would you rather buy the wireless XG 115(w) version? the inbuilt wireless function is not supported by the home user licence. Also the inbuilt wifi is very limited in function and more than likely will not be of practical use to a home user. The XG with the inbuilt wireless also needs to be placed where the wifi signal can be seen readily which in most households is not practical from my experience.

EOL is not applicable if you are running home user licence as it is not hardware specific.

You have to bear in mind that the throughput is dependant on how much of the facilities you want to use and the speed of your internet. You don't mention how fast your internet connection is.

So what you're saying is that the wifi built-in to the Sophos XG appliances won't work with a home license, but a separate Sophos access point will work with the standard appliance? I hope that's the case because that really makes no sense why the wifi would not work with a home license.

The inbuilt does not work with home licence without some fiddling after each software upgrade. The sophos ap/x is a different device. The inbuilt will support either 2.4 or 5 ghz but not both at the same time.
