Sophos XG firewall Home

Does anyone uses Sophos firewall home? Is it wort trying? I use PFSense now, with lots of settings ( pfblocker, snort, ha proxy, 2 VPN, 5 VLAN). Is the home version enough for these? Thanks for the answers https://19216811.cam/ https://1921681001.id/.

  • Sophos XG Home is the same as Sophos XG on their appliances, so yes it works great. It easily supports VPN, VLANs, it includes Snort, and HA. (Not sure if Home supports HA, as that seems to be a rather commercial feature, but maybe.) You can block websites, and Sophos classifies websites into Advertisement, etc, and you can block this way as well. However you can't subscribe to a bunch of ad identification sites and have the block lists auto-updated, so I think it's not quite as convenient as I understand pfblock to be, but it works for me.

It may be normal in the pfsense world to install third-party software, but that's not common in the Sophos world. (I would never do it.)
