MAC Address Exclusion XG Firewall

Hi all,

Currently in our environment we have a LAN to WAN rule and WAN to LAN rule, which both block traffic from a set country list. For example, we can’t access sites in Russia and any data from Russia can’t access our LAN.

At the moment we have some developers making some changes to one of our servers, but they’re based in a blocked country. They use a RDP file to connect to our server. At the moment we unblocked their country but is there a way we can have the country blocked while still allowing them access to that specified server?

We were thinking of MAC filtering but we are unsure how to configure that. Are there any suggestions on how we can block the developers country but still allowing them access?

Thanks.

  • Hi,

assuming the supplier has fixed IP address, you could create a firewall rule at the top that allows their ip address range access to your network.
