LAG not working unless you specify interface speed

mayba I have the same issue here. XGS with SFOS 18.5 MR2. Created LAG with LACP for two ports but I only can reach/ping the LAG interface and no VLANs on the LAG. If I switch the mode to Active-Backup everything is working.

Other than yours I can´t change the interface speed, there is only "Auto Negotiation" in the drop-down field.

1.) console> show network lag-interface
2.) show network lag-interface <lag interface> runconfig

To verify if all the Port members are present, are up and share the same negotiation ?

Both ports are up and members...

For me this looks okay.

This is surely related to the new Bug ID as LuCar Toni - "NC-92783"  mentioned, and the only work around is : "Changed speed settings to manual 10G and it started working."

I can live with the Active-Backup state for now but how do I change the LAG interface speed? Through the XGS web console I only have auto negotioation in the drop down. Maybe this is limited to more enterprise grade XGS only? I have a XGS 116.

Or is there a console command for this maybe?

From the command line interface you try with the following: 

console> set network interface-speed <interface> speed <value> 

Did it and it shows in the interface overview but still no access from LAN to the VLANs on the LAG.

But as I mentioned, I can use Active-Backup until the fix is there.

It's better to wait as of now, are you using SFOS 19.0.0 GA-Build317 ?

Not yet, still on 18.5.2 MR-2 as I can´t do the update during business hours. It´s planed for the next Thursday (holiday in Germany).

Interesting, in 18.5.2 MR-2 there is no such issue for the lag interface. Check the status in 18.5.3 MR-3 if you already planning an upgrade next Thursday. 

for us the interface speed of the individual LAG members needs to be Auto Neg, but only the lag setting needs to be specified. that is different from your setup.

be well prepared for the v19 upgrade. Backups, the correct backup decryption and Master key, and a USB stick with v19 and one with 18.5 MR2 already created to re-image without internet access if needed.

Vivek Jagad You´re right, it was some minor misconfiguraion on switch side but anyway the 18.5.3 bud and this post helped a lot.

LHerzog I followed this link docs.sophos.com/.../index.html but the ISO of v18.5.3 MR2 is not a bootable image.. how to proceed? Just burn the ISO to the USB stick?
